What’s your favorite live album?
Well, that’s a tough one - for a few if reasons - like what do you consider a live album? I don’t own many live “albums” but I have a ton of live recordings.
1. I have recorded over 50 “live” sessions here at Ardent that I often listen to (you can too at http://ardentsessions.com). I will not reveal my favorite session as I still like to tell everyone that has recorded one that theirs is my favorite ;)
2. I have also recorded many live “sets” at events like ACL, Lollapalooza, SXSW, hand the Folk Alliance Showcase (my favorites of these are probably ones I recorded for BTR - Regina Spektor, Andrew Bird, Indigo Girls - but I have a special place in my heart for the first time I recorded John Elliott in a hotel room at The Folk Alliance showcase - all the musicians there joining on by banging the headboard, whistling and clapping was a pretty awesome event.)
3. I use to have an internet radio show called “Live from the Hitone” where I recorded bands playing live - my favorite of those shows usually involved Cory Branan - when he drank.
